Ahmed is an Advocate of the High Courts of Pakistan with rights of audience before all the High Courts and various regulatory bodies and administrative tribunals. He has over 16 years of post-qualification experience as an advocate.


Ahmed spearheads the civil litigation and tax teams at the firm. Previously he was associated with the chambers of Mr Rasheed Razvi, Senior Advocate Supreme Court and Mr Khwaja Shamsul Islam.

He deals with all kinds of litigation and dispute resolution before the High Courts and sub-ordinate Courts (including Banking, Family, Rent courts) and Tribunals. He has experience in working on civil, commercial, tax, & financial crime matters. This includes original, trial and appellate matters. He has also appeared in a number of writ petitions challenging the constitutionality of various executive and legislative actions.


Ahmed has considerable experience in civil and property related litigation, banking recovery cases, company matters and winding up, white collar crime (NAB, FIA, Customs), Family law issues (including marriage, dissolution of marriage, maintenance of wards, guardianship of ward-property, jactitation of marriage) and issues relating to succession, probate and wills.


Ahmed also has extensive experience in advising on and structuring tax efficient transactions and is retained by a number of companies and high net worth individuals for their investment planning and taxation. Ahmed has advised sponsors based in the UAE investing in corporate farming in Pakistan in particular on issues in relation to the Double Taxation Treaty. He is also advising and acting for a meat processing concern in relation to tax exemptions.


Ahmed also has experience dealing with foreign investors in particular in respect of their dealings with the Board of Investment, the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, the State Bank of Pakistan and other regulatory bodies. He has dealt with setting up and registration of companies, registration and litigation relating to intellectual property issues, registration of transfers of property.


Ahmed also regularly advises on applying for and obtaining various regulatory consents for transactions (including consents from the Competition Commission of Pakistan and the SECP). In addition, Ahmed also regularly undertakes the drafting of various joint venture and sale purchase agreements, deeds and wills. He also undertakes all documentation and registration of firms, companies, societies, transfers of property, trusts and intellectual property.
